Currently coding this blog entry from my new Raspberry Pi 5! The past few days of experimentation and unix learning have yielded some nifty results, and what's more, ALMOST all of the components for my cyberdeck build are currently in my possesion. The pesky touchscreen element, shipping from dear china, eludes me, and likely will for several more weeks. I am a big fan of buying consumer products (espescially tech) direct from manufacturers, but the oft extreme delays in shipping can certainly temper one's goodwill for a great deal on flashy gadgets. //

I have decided that I am going to dedicate a solid portion of tomorrow to the search for a new quest. I've said about all I care to on that front; I am reminded that I am the gatekeeper of my own destiny, and I will have my glory day in the hot sun. //

Today has been mostly bleggh due to the classic cycle of staying up far too late and sleeping in half past the crack of one million. Another of my short term goals for the,,,short term,,,is to get more of a handle on my infamously chaotic sleep schedule. Updates and results to follow (fingers crossed I have any). //

Dang, just,,,dang! I really want that screen! I've checked a number of other distributors to see if there's a domestic partner that stocks the screen and can get it to me in a few days. No such luck. It's very much in my nature to become paranoid in these moments that something I've ordered will never truly arrive, though that's happened maybe once or twice over thousands of packages. Egads, this impatience will be my undoing. //

//11:02// I was hoping to make it over to the lab earlier than this to collect a few cares and woes, but I can feel a lte night quest coming on. Perhaps I shall come on later for an update to this post, but if I don't, consider this my sign off. //

It's the eve of my 30th year and I'm feeling,,,good? It's weird; I guess I should be feeling some type of way about the loss of my younger years, but really I just feel ready to enter a new level of age. As one of the youngest in my core crew, it's hard to feel like I'm really leaving anything behind. New dimensions, new frontiers. Truth be told, I think I'm barely getting started. //

In other news, one could say that after leveling to the rank of Sautee Knight, the Quest of the Pantry Scout fell into a gameplay loop of endlessly grinding for XP. What's more, I heard a spoiler that one of the last helpful and friendly characters in the game "moves to the Midwest" at the end of this level. As such, I'll definitely be seeking a new quest in the coming months, hopefully one that allows me to get my loot up and spend a bit more time in the wizard tower. //

Or, rather, another way of saying it: One of the best ways, maybe THE best way to have a good time or start enjoying something is to decide that you are. If you grind the skill enough it's secretly one of the most overpowered techniques in the game. //

//11:40PM// The evening is still pretty young and my reserves of guarana, vapor pods, and ale are totally depleted. I'd like to make a quick sidequest to the local smallmart, and I'd like to finish this post before I do. I have this weird feeling that in the midst of a lot of turmoil, a wave of positive energy is rapidly approaching the masses. Maybe it's crazy; maybe something cool is coming? A ver. Lo, these past months my life has been in a state of continual flux, yet some constants always remain. Insomnia, isolation,,,and, of course, laundry. //

Laundry is something many people seem to struggle with, but what is it about doing laundry that so many can agree is detestable? For me it's the fact that it always seems to pile up exponentially and illogically; one t-shirt worn and next thing I know I am excavating my left sneaker from a pile of sodden towels and unknown accessory garments. How is it that I have no less than 17 unmatched socks, each clamoring for its long lost, mysteriously vanished partner? The laundry situation in my current apartment couldn't stand to be much better (across the hall; free), yet I still feel that I am against unsurmountable odds in the battle against the linens,,, it is entirely possible that I have too many clothes. //

It is currently 9:32 PM. vibing to some ephemeral new age fusion. Kuromi acryllic + pom pom USB keychain giving me a look like "I am underutilized. DJ more". Kuromi is right. Playing out as a primary goal has slightly fallen by the wayside but resurgence is necessary,,, more to follow,,, //

I suppose the main creative update sqrside is,,,an EP in the works! Expect 4 tracks, 3 of which are essentially done. hhxc/freeform/sextrance/jungle fusion flavors inbound; some fun & fresh hyperspeed ditties str8 from sqr 2 you! As some of you (and most of you probably don't) know, I've been adjacent to various net music spheres for the better part of a decade, yet have given back no more than a sporadic handful of lackluster releases. I aim to rectify that and come blasting outta the stargate with a snappy little bag-o-tricks. An energy supplement from hypnagogic rave zones; my little love letter to the dance music community and to all the blessed souls I've met on the net. Something just for fun! Expect updates on this front soon: I plan to make it over to @anorb's studio to finish mix on at least 2 of the tracks at earliest convenience. //

I have recently begun my journey as a pantry peon at,,, well, for the current moment I'm not sure if it's best to say exactly where, but you can read the previous post for a description. TBH there's a lot to take in; it's a huge operation, both in scope and scale, with a few dozen employees and multiple floors of operation. As a "pantry" denizen, I am charged namely with salads, oysters, and desserts. I feel I am at a good skill level to work effectively here while still being challenged, but we shall see. I've thus far been party to one sink overflowment and committed the blunder of leaving behind not only my water bottle (which I thought at first), but also my trusty blade. Omens of minor inconveniences to come? I hope and pray these items found way back to my employee locker with minimal chagrin.
Persona wise, I have many thoughts already, but shant dare make comment on so little time known. //

Hiya! welcome to my little pocket of cyberspace. It feels great to be *online*, for real this time. My pal @anorb and I are chilling on the couch working on our Neocities pages and it genuinely feels like we're reclaiming some untapped frontier. The information super highway, the world wide web,,,the final frontier. Tapping in to the smallweb has brought up so many feelings of nostalgia for my early days of unsupervised surfing, and it's something I'm very stoked to be able to be a part of. I hope to make this site into a cool place to hang out online. Expect audiovisual weirdness, zines, homebrew RPG materials, delicious recipes, pseudointellectual musings, and links to the most esoteric of digital zones. Stay tuned! //

In other news, after a solid month.5 of unemployment, happy to say that I've secured a new position. Now, don't get me wrong; hanging around the pad slurpin delivery and steeping in anime definitely has its merits, but the whole "not having any money" thing tends to wear a bit thin pretty quickly. New gig is at a fairly ritzy steakhouse, complete with massive wood-fired grill in the center of the dining room.; not being the hugest carnivore, it's quite different then what I'm used to, but the facilities and all the people I met seemed great and I'm just ready to get back in the kitchen. Oh yeah, should probably mention that I work as a chef when I'm not, ya know, doing this. Not like, a "chef" chef, I don't have any underlings (yet) but you know what I mean. //

One more thing. I just gotta put some respect on the good ol' public library. Have you been to yours recently? Check it out! me n @anorb were over there the other day coding and whatnot and...damn. Talk about the halls of knowledge! Multiple times in recent years I've had the experience of finding myself at the library for some reason other than intending to go there and being kinda blown away by at how awesome it is. Probably more awesome than any specific thing that libraries provide is that it's one of the last truly public spaces; One can head in there and just spend the whole day without any expectation of spending money, catching looks, or being told to move along. Gotta love it. //
